DLA Piper Amsterdam – Exceptional Bespoke Interior at the Strawinskyhuis

In the heart of Amsterdam’s Zuidas business district, law firm DLA Piper moved into the fully renovated Strawinskyhuis at the end of 2023. Originally built in the 1970s, the building has been transformed into a modern, transparent, and sustainable working environment. The interior design, created by Casper Schwarz Architects, combines functionality with a warm and welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of a luxury resort or stylish bar.

As Smeulders Interieurgroep, in collaboration with Gielissen Interiors & Exhibitions, we delivered a range of bespoke interior elements, including the coffee bar, boardroom, pantries, and reception desk. Each element was crafted with precision and carefully aligned with the architectural vision and the dynamic character of the location.

Materials and Ambience

High-quality, durable materials were selected, including natural wood finishes, light-coloured surfaces, and 100% wool carpets. These materials contribute to a comfortable working environment with excellent acoustic performance. The interior meets the highest sustainability standards, including a BREEAM Excellent certification.

3D-printed meeting room

A striking feature of the atrium is the 3D-printed meeting space, designed by Casper Schwarz Architects and produced by Aectual. This sculptural space combines innovation with functionality and contributes to the identity of DLA Piper. The result is an inspiring work environment that brings together comfort, collaboration, and a strong sense of identity. With amenities such as a barista bar, restaurant, and rooftop bar, the office offers more than just a workplace; it is a destination for connection, collaboration, and inspiration.
